Dr. Sheryl Lipnick, D.O. is board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. She practices general orthopedics and specializes in sports medicine injuries. She cares for patients of all ages. Whether you’re a weekend warrior, a high school or a college athlete, and got injured, you need to see an orthopedic physician with the highest level of training and experience in sports medicine.
Dr. Lipnick knows that when you come to her, you are in pain. That is why she and her staff are dedicated to making your visit as comfortable as possible. With most orthopedic conditions, there is often more than one form of treatment. Dr. Lipnick spends time with her patients discussing all the possible options to find the most effective treatment plan. Dr. Lipnick’s treatment plans focused on your needs and goals.
If surgery is part of your treatment plan, Dr. Lipnick specializes in arthroscopic surgery, which is a minimally invasive procedure with a short recovery time guaranteeing you the fastest return to your normal lifestyle under normal circumstances.
Once the injury begins to heal, Dr. Lipnick and the nursing staff become your recovery team, guiding you to wellness through therapy and daily activities. Under Dr. Lipnick’s treatment plan, the individual can return to their normal activity as quickly as possible.
Dr. Lipnick’s trained in the treatment and care of sports-related injuries and conditions, such as torn ligaments (ACL and MCL), torn cartilage (meniscus), joint instability, muscle weakness, ankle sprains, and fractures. Her experience also includes athlete’s overuse injuries and conditions caused by repeated and excessive stress. Tendonitis and stress fractures fall into this category. Dr. Lipnick deals with both surgical and non-surgical treatments of sports medicine conditions. She has a keen interest in trauma and sports injuries.
EDUCATION
Dr. Lipnick has been in practice with The Center for Sports Orthopaedics, P.C. since 2010. She has conducted and authored several articles and chapters in peer-reviewed journals and other orthopedic literature.
Dr. Lipnick is:
- a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS), &
- the Arthroscopy Association of North America (AANA), &
- the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine (AOSSM), &
- the American Osteopathic Academy of Orthopedics (AOAO), &
- the American Osteopathic Association (AOA).
She is also on the hospital staff of:

Dr. Lipnick earned her Bachelors of Science Degree in Bioengineering from the University of California, San Diego in La Jolla, California, and her medical degree at Western University of Health Sciences, College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific in Pomona, California. She continued her training with an internship at South Pointe Hospital in Warrenville Heights, Ohio. She spent an extra year in Cleveland, Ohio as a clinical scholar in the total joint department at the nationally renowned Cleveland Clinic. She then went on to complete an orthopedic sports medicine fellowship with Plancher Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine in COSCOB, Connecticut and New York.
During her fellowship, Dr. Lipnick served as team physician for the Long Island Lizards professional La Crosse team and the Manhatanville Men and Women’s Ice Hockey teams.
Dr. Lipnick grew up in California. She was very active in softball, soccer and cheerleading. Her non-professional interests include going to the gym, riding her bicycle, watching movies and spending time with her husband and two young children.
